Ladies...

How are you doing out there?

I haven't hunted, not by choice but a pinched nerve in my shoulder. I can't even draw my bow back. I've been making up for it by squirrel hunting.

Update us please!

Uh Oh! Janie's got her gun!

Re: Ladies...

Well.... I got nothing! Haha
BUT, yesterday was the best day ever!!!! I finally saw a nice buck. If he wasn't an 8, he was a 7 point. Came in from my left and at about 25 yards away made a left and started going up the hill in front of me through some thick stuff. I definitely wanted him to come back down. I started can calling, and before I realized it, he was 20yards away in front of me to the right. He moved in about 5 more yards but was facing me. In my head I kept saying, "go left!!!" He started looking around, sniffing.... Looked probably right at me about 2 times, but I guess I didn't spook him. After what felt like forever, he flipped around, went back about 5 yards, looked around, and them trotted off back up the hill. I couldn't call him back to me. After another hour of feeling sick in the tree, I started thinking maybe I imagined it all. Haha It was so amazing!!! I'm sure there should be a pic of him on my boyfriends buddy's trail cam. So I told him I need a copy of that pic to commemorate my first true buck sighting while hunting.

Re: Ladies...

Ahhh... the buck right there and nothing you can do about it! Reminds me of the time I was in the woods last year on the last day of Archery, laying on my stomach on the ground of all places, trying to get warm and here is a nice 8 point buck in front of me and I'm just laying there thinking, what a dumb move for me to be laying on the ground, huddling over 6 hot hands shoved down my shirt.

Uh Oh! Janie's got her gun!

Re: Ladies...

Its been very frustrating for me. I went out so many times and could never see anything because of the large amount of pheasant hunters. That was on public lands. Plus at the sportsman club there were tons of people practice shooting their canons or rifles. I don't know, there was just too much people and noise for them to come out. I've been wanting to go out for fall turkey but i have to head north a little, closed here in 5b. Its been a very discouraging first season for me, but I'm hoping to get out there in January. Hopefully it will die down by then.
