starting shotgun for a girlfriend

Looking at getting a first shotgun for girlfriend. looking for a cheap starter gun, was looking at the H&R Pardner 20 Gauge. what yous think??

The H&Rs are great shotguns. You may want to look for a Escort Silver Select, over under. It comes with shims that you can add/remove to get the lenght of pull correct for her. Nice Shotguns.

What kind of shootin you lookin at??? A used 1100 without screw in chokes may go around $300.00 or a used 870? Also used 11/87 is a real nice shotgun....later

i would recommend the mossberg 500 20 gauge. But you should take her to a gun store and see what fits her. My fiance shoulder all of them and the mossberg fit her best.

For a first time female shooter, go with a semi-auto. If you get a pump or single shot, they may be too light for any extended shooting, which you need to practice for quick, clean kills. Last thing you want to do is have a snotty field load beat her up and discourage her. The semi will soften the recoil by using most of the energy to cycle the action, and they're easy carrying.
