It's good to see

Cabelas finally selling American made rods and reels with their brand on them. I believe their fly line has been made in the USA for quite some time now.

My Cabela's Three Forks/Wind River combo is made in China. Which model is American made?

The fellow in Cabelas fly fishing department told me that the Cabelas brand fly line is made by Scientific Angler...they are owned by 3M Company in Michigan, I believe.

Re: It's good to see

I don't trust anything cabelas says about MADE IN USA.. I found on a Chinese website reels, fly line, fly boxes and float tubes that are manufactured in china sold in USA.. just because they are assembled in USA doesn't make it right..

I could be wrong, and these could be very very very good versions of knock offs but who knows..

im skeptical that's all

Re: It's good to see

I got the new fly fishing catalog yesterday and they have a new line of rods called "American Dream" that are supposed to be designed and built here in the USA. They also have a new fly feel built here too.

I believe this is a first for their own brand that I can remember.

I just got the catelog delivered here at work. That's definitely refreshing to see.

At least they are making the attempt to produce something here at home. Maybe it will catch on and they will have to hire an employee somewhere.
