Wild/Native Trout get together in REMOTE areas

Anyone interested in a little native hunting once the season rolls in? Would be fishing central PA in the Lock Haven, Renovo, Pine Creek areas if anyone has some interest its always nice to meet and greet members from here.

When I go for natives and wilds, I usually find the spots where you have to walk at least a mile until you hit water. It's kind of a calming experience when you don't run into anyone.. And when you do run into someone, they generally share the same value and integrity that you do so its a great day regardless.

I get tired of fishing by myself at times and all my youth fisherman are growing up and taking their own friends and youngsters out

I'd be interested possibly...I have 2 days a week off from babysitting duties after school is out.

Catch-and-Release wild trout.

YES, I'd be interested and not for hi-jacking your fav spots! Just enjoy going where not many have been, understanding 1 missed strike finishes off that pool for awhile!!

I'll even bring a spare small bamboo rod to have fun with, if you wish! travel time for me would be about 3 1/2 to Lock Haven, so it would probably be an overnighter trip...

Thank you.

Do good and disappear........

I stayed up all night to prove to myself I don't snore.

Depending on when you guys are going I'd love too. Haven't been to pine creek since before I was in the military.

Spang,
NICE!! I'd love to see your rod work when we meet up! Is this your first rod or one of many? Model 98 perhaps? Get in touch with me if you need any parts/advice....

Woods,
you're too kind, but thank you for the plug! Not so bad yourself!

Re: Wild/Native Trout get together in REMOTE areas

First bamboo rod. Bought it as a kit off anglers roost. Wanted to test my ability before venturing into the realm of bamboo haha.

I've been building fly rods for 3 years now. Started as a hobby and now I do maybe 20 a year.

Any more than that. Well, it cuts into my fishing time

Re: Wild/Native Trout get together in REMOTE areas

This is DEFINATELY happening. And since I received my guide permit, at least one of us would be certified in CPR and first Aid lol.

Side note, I see some of your locations might suggest you are not located in the central PA mountains. That's not an issue and I hope I do not offend anyone when I say you have to be in relatively decent shape because some of the streams I fish you have a good amount of walking just to hit water, and once you are down you are down until we reach a truck parked at the upper limit of a system

and not to scare anyone but I encounter more rattlesnakes in places like these and unfortunately often I am by myself.

Once it gets a bit closer (and a bit warmer) i'll extend the invite again to see who is serious for an all day trip.. most likely best case scenario is we can meet early Saturday morning and drop off a vehicle where we will finish the day and get to the bottom of the trail system before it gets light out so theres no time wasted.

if an overnight stay would better suit some of you I can help with that as well..

all this talking gets me amped up about trout season I can hardly contain myself..

going to be exploring new streams here once this cold snap passes

Chris
