CLOUDS OF CADDIS on the Allegheny

Just some amazing clouds of caddis flies on the Allegheny river last few days here in Warren county, this was tonight while mowing the grass, felt bad for the guy that ran the jetboat up thru this LOL...they are like this on the road too. Need more windshield washer fluid. Tan caddis best i can tell, green drakes should be here this week too...

And no, I don't flyfish much anymore????

Re: CLOUDS OF CADDIS on the Allegheny

This is about 10 miles below what I would call the trout water portion of the river below the dam, however driving over the bridge in Warren i saw these same flies just not this thick.

We do have trout in the runs down here but only in certain ones, most river trout down here i believe are wash ins from the brokenstraw, not from the fingerling stockings up by the tailwaters.

Carp were working under these last night, and with all the frogs and toads at the rivers edge I heard two pike attacks after dark....and yes I was just cutting grass????
