Pine Creek/Little Pine Creek/Slate Run

Was at the Hotel Manor in Slate Run today for Mothers Day dinner with my family. Pine Creek was very high, but it really excited me. Of course I didn't have my gear and since it was a family day it wouldn't have mattered. Anyone on the boards from Lock Haven/Williamsport/Muncy fish these streams much? I would love to find someone with some knowledge of these streams that wouldn't mind me tagging along.

Gentlemen,
Pine Creek has been high and cold, fishing is challenging
right now, we need some warm nights for the major hatches to
start.

Re: Pine Creek/Little Pine Creek/Slate Run

I was fishing up that way yesterday. I didn't fish Pine, I fished one of the many non-famous tributaries. The water level was perfect, but the water temp was still a little bit cool for the best dry fly fishing. It only got up to 52F in the afternoon on the stream I was fishing.

But I did manage to catch some wild browns and brookies. Some on dry flies, some on nymphs.

Once the water gets just slightly warmer I think conditions will be perfect. From what I've seen in the past, once the mountain streams get to about 56F the dry fly fishing gets really good. The fishing should get real good real soon.

Pine Creek country is not just about the fishing, it's the whole experience. If you have a chance, go.

Pretty knowledgeable on those streams and the Kettle. If you're interested, contact me and I'll show you around. I'll be in Waterville for a few days after Memorial Day and myself and a few friends will be fishing all of the above streams. If you want, you can most certainly tag along with us.

The rooms are pretty nice, but not very insulated for sound. The food isn't bad either, and the view from the deck is nice.

Always enjoyed pinecreek. Our camp is where pine creek meets with cedar run. Great fishing all around.

Used to stay at Hotel Manor when we were working up that way. Mark is a good dude and the folks who work there are dang friendly. Lots of good memories from up that way but never fished while I was there... go figger
