Beadhead Walts Worm

If you Google that you will find photos.

Usually Hares Ear fur is used but that reddish brown mink fur is also good.

Just put on a copper bead, then dub on some fur. Make the fly nice and shaggy.

It's one of the simplest, and also most effective flies.

Also Google "Isonychia Nymph"

And "Isonychia dry fly"

The color of the mink fur is good for those.

And you can tie some simple wet flies. Mink fur for the body. And a few turns of grouse or partridge for a mottled effect, which is good for imitating caddis. Or a few turns of dark dun hen hackle to make an Isonychia wet fly.

I couldn't remember what I used the mink fur for. It was the Isonychia Nymph. I found that fly to be a great back up to a pheasant tail. It has its days. Another fur to try is Muskrat. It is also a little different and I am a big fan of my nymphs tied with Muskrat.
