They just stocked the DH area in the northern part with some huge trout. Easy access there along the Owassee Rd, off Colton Point Rd, which runs off of Rt 6 at Ansonia.

Try to be there during the green drake hatch (last week of May is a good bet). If you hit it right and have the right pattern you will probably have some of the best PA trout fishing of your life.

Thanks guys, was planning this coming Saturday. I am on a quest for a big trout on the fly/nymph. My home waters of spring Creek doesn't hold a large number of bigger trout. Going to go up and make a day of it, who knows I may get lucky

The green drake hatch on Pine Cr. is an excellent opportunity to catch large trout on flies. One of the few times you will see the big boys out in full force gorging on mayflies and spinners.

Go to the Slate Run stretch. Very nice fly shop there that sales buttons to fund the stocking of those big browns. Pine is big water also. It is running high more often than not this time of year and can be dangerous to wade. I have been there a few times. I hooked a few of the big ones but never was able to get one to the net. 16 inch trout are common though on that water.

Check out the Slate Run Store and Fly Shop.

They'll answer your questions and they have a very good fly selection.

The store has very good sandwiches & subs too. And ice cream cones.

Pine Creek is a big, beautiful stream. It runs for a very long way, so you can explore it for years. And there are lots of good tributaries too.
