Have you stooped to this ?

A friend asked me to tie up a bunch of Mop flies for him . Holy moly how unethical can you get !!! Dang , though they sure catch those stocked trout !! I suppose I will fill the bill and give him his fun ........maybe throw a few in my box as well

Enjoy each day afield as if it were your last.....take the time to take it all in !

That's like tying a cigarette filter on a hook.

Never understood the fuss about using generic or "unnatural" flies. Whether I tie on a chunk of a rubber band wrapped around a hook or a perfectly tied march brown wet fly, it makes no difference to me as long as they are catching fish.

I can promise you that they catch more than just stock trout. Since everyone seems to fish them now i dont fish them as much as i use to, but if you can get the right colors they make a killer cranefly larva (which is where they were first tied for).

Kind of looks like a caddis larvae.... until you get to the yellow/orange "head".

I know guys that "matched the hatch" of the pelletized food that is broadcast over jack-dam holes on privately owned and stocked streams. They used Styrofoam and painted the little balls gold. LOL

Compared to them, tying a "mop fly" is purist.
