Putting a bend in the 1/2 weight

We took our students to a local lake for their class picnic last week and while I was there I decided to break out the 1/2 weight for some panfish.

Landed four in this size range, which were great fighting fish:

What I wasn't expecting were the largemouths to be so active...they put the 1/2 weight to the test!

Quite a bit of fun for a school day!

Nice, I never heard of a 1/2 weight, must be fun! Those gills are colorful and huge.

Some great looking bass and panfish

I miss fishing for slabs with poppers, as the lake near me no longer seems to grow them that size.
