lure making

hello im not sure if this is the place to post this but i thought someone here could help. i am making my own inline spinners for trout and want to make feathered treble hooks. after watching videos on youtube i noticed that it look similar to fly tying. i wondered if you could use serving string for archery to tie the feathers on. the reason i ask is that at the end of the videos they were putting superglue or nail polish to hold the trimmed ends. i thought if you used serving string after you trimmed it you could just melt it down like you would after serving a bow. if anyone can help please let me know if this has been tried and if it does or does not work thank you
