how is the line you buy as flourocarbon tippet material different then a regular spool of flourcarbon line ?? i am looking for a flourcarbon tippet ,just wondering why is it so much more money the large spool of flourcarbon line
I believe the diameter is a lot thinner in the tippet material. I was using regular floro up till this year, then I switched over to floro tippet material. I must say I think my catch ratio went up as well. I still have a spool of 4 pound and 2 pound regular floro, but Ill only use that when the water is dirty. Now, I use nothing but tippet floro.
tippet is a smaller diameter therfore less visible to fish and more responsive, lot more strikes and hookups on smaller diamiter line when the water is clear. although ive used 6lb mono for tippet just for the heck of it when the water is dirty and have had just as good of results.
