White river fly rods?

Was looking into a introductory fly rod and reel outfit to start learning with. Was looking into the dogwood Canyon fly rod from bass pro. I'd rather not spend over $200 on my first outfit. Any expertise on that rod and reel outfit would be great.

M3500, I don't have any info on the set up you asked about but I was in your same position a few years ago. Look into the cabelas Three Forks with prestiege reel combo. It has worked great and still does. You can get it around $100 or less with sales and coupons.

Re: White river fly rods?

My opinion is the tfo is a better rod than the low end orvis, fished with both. I have used some white river rods and they are ok but when I pick up my sage it's like going from driving an escort to a BMW
