Re: 2015 flyfishing success thread

This is from the other weekend, winds and high water from the melt off made things tough. We worked for every fish...

Spent a couple of hours yesterday afternoon catching trout looking up, 2lb tippet & #20 olives were the call of the day...

No takers on a prince nymph or green beaded olive wooly bugger. Switched over to a red beaded grizzly wooly bugger and caught a 12" brook, followed by a 11" brown, and two rainbows that were slightly over 20".

Re: 2015 flyfishing success thread

Nice trout and pics seekeroftngmat. What were they taking?

Got out myself for several hours this evening.
A green beaded nymph produced the first one, then after seeing some surface activity switched over to a black ant and caught a couple on the surface. Seen 3 goldens in a pool and no takers on the ant, switched over to a pearl flashback nymph and caught two of the three goldens, and lost the 3rd.

Was really nailing them on the pearl flashback nymph after a dozen or so lost it on a break off. Put on a royal coachman dry fly and picked up a few more off the surface as darkness set in.

Re: 2015 flyfishing success thread

Thanks pah, on top it was sulfurs. Nymphing some were on a black #14 walts, and some were on a sculpin head streamer. I like to tight line those, that's been working pretty good. Nice catches you have there...
