hotspots

Just wondering how many guys tie in hotspots on their nymphs? Have they fished well?

Re: hotspots

I'm going to try a couple just for something different. Are you fishing this weekend?

Re: hotspots

I like to tie in hot spots on some of my nymphs also. I like them much smaller than most, but that's all personal preference. Another thing I use hot spots for is as an indicator that I have also weighted the fly along with the bead. I use the same color when doing this that way there's no confusion while on stream making fly choices for the particular water on hand.

pullin strings, flingin flies and scraping stones...

Re: hotspots

That's a good idea about using a hotspot to show it's weighted. I will use slightly different thread colors to indicate weight, but that sounds like an even better idea.

I hope you guys got out fishing. I didn't make it out.
