New vise ?

I have been buying $25.00 vises for a few years and after so many flies the jaws start to wear and will not secure a hook. Its time to purchase a quality new vise and wanted some opinions. I am stuck between the Regal medallion w/ the stainless jaws and the Renzetti cam traveler series. Does anyone have any experience with either of these ? Thanks for your help !

I have a Regal with stainless jaws. It's fantastic.

It's a good spot. Just not today.

Re: New vise ?

I have the Renzetti Traveler . It has a heavy base and does a great job. It will last a lifetime if you tie as much as most . Since it is a winter pastime for me it only sees limited use . Maybe 200 flies a season. Both good pieces of equipment .

Enjoy each day afield as if it were your last.....take the time to take it all in !

Re: New vise ?

I know you have a few vises in mind already, but if you haven't looked at the Peak vises check them out.

There is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people asking questions.

Re: New vise ?

I really like Renzetti's. Great vises. I tie size 2 streamers down to #26's.

Can't go wrong with a Renzetti. Been tying on one for over 20 years with thousands of dozens of flies tied!
