Orvis Access Rod

Just ordered a new Orvis Access rod today. Headng out to the tribs end of next week for 5 days for steelies. Can wait to try it out. Anyone else have one of these rods. The guy I talked to at orvis said they are replacing the power matrix, he said there is no comparison. It much lighter and stronger than the power matrix. Awesome to cast. He has 2 power matrix's and is going to replace them with these new Access rods.

Well just got the rod today. It's beautiful, but more important its light and smooth. Can wait to hit the tribs to use it.

Re: Orvis Access Rod

i have the new orvis access rod in a 10' 5wt , i also have the 9' pwr matrix , the 2 rods are very very very similar , i think the access is 1/4 ounce lighter , the access is uglier in my opinion where there is raw black graphite showing at the ferells but both are nice rods , i understand the access was built on the load ratios of the helios but to say 1 is much better than the other is opinion
