Re: sage LL 4711 rod value

The way to estimate the resale value of just about anything is:

Sign up for an account on Ebay, if you haven't already. Get the password, etc.

Click on My Ebay

Type the rod model (or whatever) in the search window.

You can see what is offered there for sale now.

But, more useful is: Click on SOLD.

It will show you recent sales prices.

I did a quick check and found these prices:
$305, $316, $322, $425, $435, $490

That will give you a rough idea.

Nice gift!

Re: sage LL 4711 rod value

The LL rods are highly sought after these days, and I would think that a 4 weight would be right up there among the LL models being most desired.

However, like anything else, the rod's condition will determine it's ultimate value, with those in mint condition commanding top dollar. Keep that in mind when looking what other similar length and line weight LL's have sold for.

If your rod is in mint, or excellent condition, on a good day it could sell for upwards of $500.00 I'd think. If it is in well used, but still fishable condition, it might be worth a couple hundred dollars.

In any case, take care of it! You are lucky to have it.

Re: sage LL 4711 rod value

I'd kill for a 4711. And if I had the money.... I've seen them on e-bay and craigslist at varying prices from $300 up. Kinda like Fenwick fiberglass rods, the prices can be all over the place. Wish someone would give me one. Would trade for guns or fishing equipment.

Forgot to add one thing: about 3 years ago I missed out on a 4711 on another forum for $100. I did buy the other rod offered, a Sage 586LL for $100. Sometimes there are bargains.
