Website updated. Please let me know your thoughts.

Hey guys I updated my website recently and was wondering if you all could give me some feedback. I am just a mountain boy from SW PA so webdesign is not my strongest point.

I added a section called fish stories, and have a pretty good one about a large brouwn that I was after for quite some time. I am looking at using my better camera to take pictures of my flies and such.

Let me know some things you like or don't like about it. If it is real nasty, please shoot me a pm. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

www.richardsonflycompany.com If you have facebook please click the facebook link and give my page a like.

Thanks again.

Looks good, Mike.

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.

Do a spell check on your writing.

You can just copy the text, paste it into a word processor, then click on the spell check tool, and it will find most of the spelling errors for you.

Hi Mike,
love the site! On your home page, it's difficult to read the light colored print, but looks interesting with all that you're involved in... IF you change to a darker print, I will read it!

I too, am involved with PHW, though I don't tie flies for them, but restore bamboo fly rods for their benefit. We welcome anything you can do for these true heroes!

I stayed up all night to prove to myself I don't snore.

That's a good tip. Dark type on a light background is easiest to read.

Another tip:

Put your contact info right on the Flies page. That way the reader can look at your flies, then if interested, go right to contacting you.

Rather than having to navigate to another page searching for contact info.

Thanks guy! Glad for the pointers. I must be weird. Dark print is hard for me to read.

I like your site, and the concept. The one thing I would change is take that picture of the palmino and drop it more to the bottom and replace it with a pic of a brown. Maybe its just me but i would think most flyfisherman, who are generally an elitist group as a whole, cringe at the sight of palmino's. Just my $.02. keep up the great work.

Input the native trout above the stocked trout section. Most of the elitists tie their own flies I will contemplate switching but wanted a trout of every species on the page.

Did you change the background color?

Dark print on the background you have there now would be hard to read.

Dark print on a light background is the easiest thing to read, so it should be used for all long running text.

The white type on a dark background, which you have now, is good for short things, such as labels and headings, because it can "pop", that is stand out, and add variety.
