I hit my favorite spot on the Delaware (outside Milford, PA) yesterday and thought for sure I would catch a walleye. Gage level was right, weather was right and I spotted lots of fish in two seperate holes (23 feet & 31 feet). I fished with a fire-tiger worm harness, with a bottom bouncer and floats; nothing.
Before packing it in I decided to try some smallmouth fishing from shore (late morning \ early afternoon) and caught 4 smallmouth in about an hour; 12, 13, 15 and 16 inches.
Back to the walleye drawing board for me.
