i recently set out my minnow trap and today I went and checked it and I had about 25 decent sized creek chubs. I was wondering if these would work well for walleye bait for fishing in pymatuning. if they do work well, can anybody give me any tips on how to rig them up so that I can attempt to catch walleyes efficiently. any information would be greatly appreciated.
It's about the best bait going for shore fishing walleye on Pymatuning. Use about 6 lb. line on a light action rod; #4 aberdeen hook thru the lips with light split shot or a small sliding sinker. They can be hooked lightly behind the dorsal fin too; that's how I rig them most of the time.
4-5" ones are good and have used them as large as 6" with good results.
