St Croix Eyecon Walleye Rods

Looking to upgrade and get 3 good walleye rods for me and my 2 boys for Canada this year. Not looking to pay a fortune and these at appx $110 are even more than I would like to spend. Anyone use the Eyecon spinning rods? Any feedback? Are you using M or MH for jigging 1/8 oz and 1/4 oz jigs? Thanks

Re: St Croix Eyecon Walleye Rods

Mike I canot be much help on the EyeCon. But, I just purchased a Okuma Dead Eye Walleye Spinning Rod from Fish USA. It seems pretty sweet. Hopefully, I'll get to use it next month. It was $100, free shipping.

Welcome to HPA.

“did you get all that on camera sport?”

Re: St Croix Eyecon Walleye Rods

I nearly bought one last year while at Cabelas, but they didn't have the model I wanted in stock.

Another good choice for a few bucks less would be the Fenwick HMX series rods. I own 4 of them and truly believe that they are one of the best rods out there for under $100.

For jigs of that size I would recommend a medium action or even a ML with an extra-fast tip.
