Re: line twisting with nite crawler harnesses?

use a good swivel between your harness and main line.

X 2. Don't trust the cheap swivels that come with some of the prepackaged harnesses, get a quality one.

Re: line twisting with nite crawler harnesses?

either the line on your reel is spooled incorrectly...which means spool it up as it comes off the spool in the same direction or swivels need replacing...and how fast were you trolling...? I had to back down my idle on my yamaha on sunday just to get down to 1.5 mph...at 3mph my harnesses were going nuts...and i had planer boards on..

my guess also. Try casting let your reel go out slowly in reverse as your starting to troll. If its on wrong it wont twist up.

Re: line twisting with nite crawler harnesses?

What kind of weights are you using? If you are running some kind of bouncers or other fixed position weight, you should put a swivel from the main line to the weight AND a swivel from the weight to the harness/leader.

They are expensive, but the ball bearing swivels perform the best IMO.

Re: line twisting with nite crawler harnesses?

I want the crawler to spin because it attracts attention. As others said use a good swivel or a snap with a swivel. You can attach different size weights to the snap to control depth.
