Re: Update on Pymatuning anyone ???

Just got my PA Angler magazine today...good article on the walleye. They say numbers are way up due to fry & fingering stockings. Crappie article too...good fishing.

You would think they would be done spawning and heading out. The warmer water earlier may have then messed up a little. Still, can't wait to get up there.

Re: Update on Pymatuning anyone ???

Doing very good on numbers of eyes but a lot of throw backs. Best time for the bigger fish seems to be the first or last 2 hours of the day. Crappies are hanging around the drop offs of the shallow bars. Males are getting the nests ready. Tried using the wind the other morning to float the bait into the humps with slip float (looking for eyes)but the crappie wouldn't leave the bait alone. Did bring home 3 nice keeper eyes and 7 crappie over 12 inches.

Re: Update on Pymatuning anyone ???

Family had a few boats up this past weekend. Pounding the eyes, most all14-16" though. Red cross camp was the hottest spot. Few different tournaments going on Saturday, LONG WAIT at the docks. Some waited hour and half to launch!!!
Crappie spawn going well also!

Crappies are on fire right now. Fish in the 11-14 inch range and lots of them. 6-7 FOW was the best.
