I was out last weekend. Weather was a little funky but we did ok, got 10 each day in my boat fishing with my buddy. I can't get out far with my boat so we were pretty much limited to the south passage and a lot of the fish were reported to be stacked up out towards the border between the islands. We picked away at fish in spurts but just never could put a good run together to limit.
They usually move into the shallower basins off catawba any day now and start feeding on the mayfly nymphs when the casting bite really turns on in that shallower water, which is what we were really after because we troll them up off Conny and Erie all summer. I think this weekend that casting/bouncer bite should get rolling. June is pretty much always good for that as long as the weather is stable.
