Erie walleye Fishing on Fire

I see noone is posting about the insane fishing this year. In the past 5 trips, we have fished a total of 11 hours and landed 92 legal sized walleye, along with quite a few throw backs.

Mostly eater sized fish, with a few up to 8 pounds thrown in.

Anyone else been on the big pond?

I wish, but I don't have a boat and it seems that most fish are being caught off shore.

Everything was lining up for a great year this year. Last year shorts were the norm.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Yesterday afternoon was especially good for us. Wife and I broke a new boat record with 2 limits in an hour and 18 minutes.

Good to hear, any more time on the lake you and your wife would be cooked. Man was it hot

We have been casting Erie Dearies in the mornings and pulling fish for the first couple hours. I started yesterday with 4 walleye on the first 5 casts. Nothing better than being able to shut down the motor and just cast/drift for them. Trolling is hard to keep 6 rods in the water. I set my boat limit to 18" and ended the last 3 days with our limits in a few hours. If we just fished for the first 6 legal you will be done in 30 minutes.

Went out this morning by myself. Left the dock at East Ave at 6 am, by 6:45 I had already boated 4 fish. Ended up with 6 keepers and 2 throwbacks. Had the boat back on the trailer by 8:45 then back home and had the fish cleaned by 10.
This has been some of the most super consistent action I have seen in 30 years. If you can go, GO.
