Ontario Canada walleyes.

Where are they? My favorite spring-fed lake seemed to lose the pop. of walleyes. Plus the cabins we stayed in are in poor shape these days. Too much mold and dirt for us anymore. Plus, plumbing is falling apart. Looking for a nice clean cabin on a lake with some nice-sized northerns, bass, panfish, walleye. A spring-fed lake within an hour or two of route 401 and the route 81 customs bridge would be ideal. A/C would be a plus. My Wife and I eat just one or two fish meals a week when we go during open bass season up there. So, catch and release is the norm for me. She doesn't fish. MrC.

Wrong thread, go to the fishing threads.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

Wish I could help. Haven't fished the Quebec end of Ontario for years. I could hook you right up in the Manitoba end.

Re: Ontario Canada walleyes.

What lake have you been fishing? Many of the lakes close to 401 have been decreasing in Walleye numbers for quite a few years now. Actually, the only good fishery that I know of close to 401 is the Bay of Quinte. Doesn't have the same Canadian "feel" as many of the other lakes in the area such as Kashwakamak and Big Gull, but you will catch Walleyes.

Norcan doesn't have a ton of walleye but there's enouth northern to eat (and make you tired of catching them) and the topwater bass fishing doesn't get much better. It's a part of a hydro dam chain on the madawaska river. So there's lake fishing and river fishing all in one. We usually stick to largemouth in the lake part but there are smallmouth and walleye to be had in the river.

For every one mile of road there are two miles of ditch.

Mississagagon. It's near Cloyne and Kashawakamak. I'll check Bay of Quinte. Thanks.

Re: Ontario Canada walleyes.

Sounds like fun. I am a huge fan of topwater. A rattlin' chug bug in white with red eyes is my go-to at first light. The notherns on Missisagagon were small this year. Might be because of the time share property that popped up a few years ago. So, this lodge sounds like my kind of place. Nice looking property. Thanks for the link. I'll look a little closer. Time to whip up some cheddar burgers for dinner.

Re: Ontario Canada walleyes.

Sure has some monster walleyes. Something more private is what we'ree looking for I guess. My back can't handle the chop from other boats very well anymore. We drove around Kashawakamak. How's fishing there? I'm running a semi flat-bottom Xpress with an outboard jet so choppy water and thick vegetation can be a problem.

Re: Ontario Canada walleyes.

I ran a jet on Kashwakamak for about 10 years - no problems with navigation. As far as fishing goes - I no longer go there
