I know FishDr and I have been chasing skis and I have only boated 1 Tiger 36" so far I have had a pile of lazy follows and such with 2 lost pure strains boatside prior to getting them in the net. I blame my hooks, but anyhow I want to hear how all of you guys are doing and how you think this year is going for you. The weather seems like it is playing a factor. piles of rain in the spring and now 80-90 degree heat..Anyhow here is my Tiger I caught on a Firetiger Musky buck tandem.
The only action I've had so far is a couple follows. MrLuck, why do you blame your hooks? Ed, if your water is getting that warm, start looking for moving water. ( rivers and streams) Flowing water has more than enough disolved oxygen even into the low or mid 80s. That will keep you fishing longer without risking harm to the fish.
Hey guys, I have never fished for muskies but a buddy of
mine and I are gonna give it a try. Just looking for some
advice. What lures or bait to use? Any line preference?
Any other tips on fishing for them would be appreciated!
I'd rather be fishing or hunting!

I went with my boss yesterday to Curwensville Lake. We had one on and 3 follow up the the boat. We were using what my boss called Mr Wiggles. More or less a 6in rubber minnow with two hooks that was weedless. My boss has 15 or so caught and his good friend has at least 20 caught for the year so far. His friend Virgil las year I think has over 100 for the season. yes he is that guy, he also has a really cool wife that lets him fish at least 260 plus days a year
Geez, 100 for the year. 260 days per year is a ton of fishing. Maybe he's halfway through his year, say 130 days...given that, and estimating 6 hrs per trip = 780 hours fished, 100 fish, = 7.8 hrs per fish....that's about right. I think I'm at 9 hrs/fish.
