Raystown walleyes??

I just started boating Raystown about a year ago. I've never taken a fishing pole yet. But I guess there are walleyes there. So that is about to end.

Has anyone got any pointers or locations where a guy might start looking for walleye hotspots on a very long lake??

Re: Raystown walleyes??

The areas of the lake where creeks enter might be a good pre-spawn staging area, but they are probably heading up the creeks by now, and the creeks themselves are usually off limits to fishing this time of year. There are stories of scumbag poachers getting nailed gigging walleyes in the creeks there. I tried to post a link to one of the WCO poacher stories but not sure how to link a pdf. If you search the Lake stories yourself you'll find one.

Later in the year, walleyes are probably like everything else in that lake.....follow the bait.

There is always a season!

I get one or two a year while bass fishing. I know guys get some around trough creek (across from james creek). There are some BIG eyes in that lake. You can get some fishing up the river too, but I don't know where they go once they slide back to the lake. Good luck!
