walleye at Glendale

The slow rabbit hunting has got me dreaming of fishing again.
I'd like to get serious about the walleye at Glendale.
Anyone with any stories to share , etc , etc

Re: walleye at Glendale

Walleye from the Dead Sea?!?! You kidding?
My family pound every inch of the lake from opening day till October! Caught them in 1'-25' of water. Weeds BIG factor for us catching or not. 5"-30" and everything in between!

Re: walleye at Glendale

Nope not kidding.
When i really really want walleye , I head for erie.
but Glendale is close and it's just something I want to do.
The weeds are horrible at times , that has been a problem before but targeting the walleyes up there has a nice ring to it.
On the plus side , I'm sure I'll encounter other types while trying for the eyes.

Every time I have fished at Glendale I come home wishing I would have went somewhere else to fish. Its a nice lake and they maintain the park well, the fishing it just getting worse and worse.

Re: walleye at Glendale

We used to fish Erie pretty heavy as well. Pymatuning another yearly haunt! Glendale is LOADED with 'eyes! few years ago we boated over 200 in 2 months. Thats fishing it once or twice a week. Never got started that year till Last saturday in July. To our surprise, fish were SHALLOW!! Even on the hottest dog days, we were picking them up in just a few feet of water. Was hard zig-zagging between all the pontoon boats that were out. Im sure you will see us out there if you are chasing them this year!

Re: walleye at Glendale

We have used them there with little success. Usually 2-4 shot depending on wind and troll speed. We strictly use worm harnesses. Sometimes just their weight alone is enough when we are hitting fist in shallows of 3-5 feet of wate. Only 1 fish ever taken on the bottom bouncers.

Bass and pike were often the results
