Most musky I'll ever have in my boat in one day

They might all be 10-12 inches but I'll take it. Helped stock the other day. Fish comission said they would have a better chance if we spread them out so a few guys brought boats down and we took loaded up coolers and put them in good cover. Hope they all make it lol. I guess there is only a 10-15% survival rate for them to make adulthood

I must of been at a location thaqt was recently stocked once, it was at the old 422 launch on lake Arthur. I waded out into the weed bed and just started to noticed a long slender fish, it was a fingerling musky! I looked closer and saw about a dozen all around me. pretty cool.

Re: Most musky I'll ever have in my boat in one day

10-12 inchers they must be the ones they raise for a year before stocking them. I have gone several rounds with the PFBC lobbying for bigger "fingerlings" on the premise that more would survive the first week after stocking - so they would not have to stock as many to get the same catch rate.

On my local lake it is a feeding frenzy during that first week when they stock the 4-6 inchers. Great time to fish but you need to "match the hatch". The stripers, bass and bigger muskies key on them. Not to mention the birds LOL.

The guy on the truck said they were born this year...tried hiding them in heavy weeds but still saw a few getting picked off a few minutes after we released them.

From a SE lake - 2010 Tiger Muskellunge Fingerling 4,550
2010 Tiger Muskellunge Yearling 2,700
What they list as yearlings were the 10" fish ... what they list as fingerlings were the 4-6" normal ones. I know they stock the 4-6" in Sept. I had always guessed they were from eggs hatched in the spring and the 10" were from last years eggs - now I'm confused LOL

Love those fish! Nice job.

The jobs are all gone and they are never coming back. Thanks for buying that import.
