leaders

i run steel leaders for musky when casting and trolling but was thinking of tying up some quick strike rigs for my mom who likes to bank fish and cant cast continuously.
is 50lb mono heavy enough?
i have some nice briaded wire from shark rigs but no crimps for them.

Now your diggin' where the 'tators are!

Re: leaders

I wouldn't use it...I mostly use 100lb flourocarbon or single strand wire...always wire with live bait. I'll hang a large sucker or bluegill right over the side of the boat on a quick strike. sometimes if they turn off the figure 8 they'll hit the live one

Re: leaders

Have to agree, I wouldn't trust less than 100lb for floro or mono leaders, and especially not with live bait.

There is always a season!
