Re: SE pa walleye fishing

Check out the pa fish and boat website, lots of good info on that site. If I'm not mistaken walleye is out and I would imagine the river will freeze up soon.

Try The Susquehanna River near Ft. Hunter. Not many of SE PA lakes are "good" for walleye. They are there, but you don't hear of many if any being caught.

Yes, both of those tailraces are good spots. If you have a boat you should seriously consider the warm water discharge at Peach Bottom Atomic plant. They should be doing very good on walleye there right now.

Re: SE pa walleye fishing

I'll agree walleye in lakes is a joke in the SE. There are some(Blue Marsh, Nockamixion and Struble) but I targeted them in both B/M and Struble in the 80-90's and caught zip. I have caught 2 while bass fishing at B/M.
You can do OK at the spillway of both B/M + Nockamixion but we need a hurricane to provide flood conditions(the lakes have to flood so they have to open the gates) it hasn't happened in about 6yrs.
The Susky and the Delaware are your best options, with some limited walleye on the lower Schulkyill(Philly area). Dams are always good(including any dams on major tributaries). Also look for deeper eddy's behind rock ledges near shore.

HINT... if the river comes up don't be afraid of fishing around the trees that are now in the water

the nock & Beltsville have plenty difficult to get on them tho the dell has good numbers & can be great when the fish move to spawing areas
