Pymatuning Walleye

Hey guys, I'm going fishing tonight at Pymatuning for walleye tonight with a buddy from work....This is my first time fishing there, we are wading in and going about 8 p.m...I was wondering if anybody has fished there this year and howd you do? What color pattern Rapala seems to be the best? Any information would be helpful! Thanks!

Never fished there but if you are throwing cranks you can never go wrong with blue.

Re: Pymatuning Walleye

Just got back from fishing, its 12:30....ended up catching 4...caught my first one on my third cast, the next three within a 30 minute span around 10:30....the wind wasnt cooperative and the waves made it some what miserable...but fun none the less....plenty of guys catching fish, most of my success came on a gold/black Rapala floater....good luck, they're down there!

Re: Pymatuning Walleye

We fished there last week. Did real good on Tuesday night and Thursday night. Best fish was 6 lbs. I think they are about done though. We brought home a total of 14 fish.

Re: Pymatuning Walleye

We are heading up this weekend and decided to take an extra day but we won't have a boat on Friday. Just curious as to where you guys wade at? The only place I've ever been to was years ago near the spill way. Are there any other good places from shore this time of year?

Thanks in advance

Re: Pymatuning Walleye

I fished near the spill way, there were other anglers when we got there.....if I were you I'd just look for people that have waded out and pull up by them...Good Luck, I will also be fishing there again this weekend, hopefully!

Re: Pymatuning Walleye

I don't mean to hijack this thread but this is my first trip headed up to pymie in some years. Headed up Thursday after work and coming home sunday. Taking waders and my boat.

meeting some friends that have a cabin in Linesville. just wondering what you guys like to use up there. I'm pretty much a fly fisherman that happens to own a couple spinning rods and a 14' duck boat.

jigs? crawler harnesses? going to be using fatheads and crawlers I'd imagine. maybe throwing some cranks. If you don't feel like posting here shoot me a private message please. I need all the help I can get

Re: Pymatuning Walleye

We were just up there last Thursday to Sunday and I wish I could help you. Fishing was very slow we didn't see many fish being caught at all. We did manage two pretty nice walleye. I caught my second biggest ever on Friday morning thought it was going to be a great weekend but unfortunately nothing else. My son caught one about the same size. He said bigger but I don't think so

I caught it on a tube bait tipped with a medium fathead at the stumps off to the left of the Linesville Marina. He got his off of the fishing pier at the Linesville Marina. They were catching some nice perch of the pier as well.

As far as wading we did a little Friday evening but the spillway area we went to looks nothing like I remembered 30 years ago, I don't know where they wade anymore nobody was in that area.

Sorry not much help but that's all I got. Hope they are biting for you this weekend

Re: Pymatuning Walleye

I will not be working, so its already a winning situation for me. Were after Perch, Crappie gills or eyes.. pretty much whatever is biting.

Going to take a large arsenal

thanks again
