Going to camp the first day ??

Just wondered if the number of fishermen at camp will be up or down for the first day of trout. Also the in season stockings on or off? We are in Elk Co. and will still be there.

Nope. I don’t fish on Opening Day and haven’t for several years due to the crowds. I’d check the stocking schedules on the PAF&BC website to see if the in season stockings are still on.

I am guessing the number of guys at their camps for the first day will be down. As of right now I plan on being there. I enjoy that weekend a great deal just for the socializing factor and I usually can find a brookie stream with little to no pressure. Hopefully the sun is shining and the fish are biting!

That's a big weekend for camp, 12 to 15 guys, have to wait and see if this virus slows down before I make a decision to open or close it! Always other weekends to pick

I avoid opening weekend but usually camp at Loleita in the ANF for a week in early season but wouldn't this year even if the campground was open. I'll stick close to home, maybe a day trip to the ANF but its a long drive.

Not really sure if I'm going to risk it with the crowds. My backyard is right up the the Delaware Canal, and I do catch trout there each year after they have a chance to disperse, so I'll likely play homebody rather than socialize like normal.

Remember.... they're full time deer......we're part time hunters!
