Revised Trout Opener for SE PA

Looks like this year stocked trout fishing will be pretty screwed up. One state wide mentored youth day and opening day. No help from the public for stocking and they can consolidate stockings. I'm thinking this means all the trout will be dumped off bridges, and streams that normally get stocked 3 times a season will be stocked once.

HA, that's exactly how the hole will look. Waste of money and resources in my opinion. PFBC should really consider changing the creel limit to 2 a day, or zero creel limit until June.
2020 trout fishing will literally be like shooting fish in a barrel.

In the marginal streams (which are many) the water gets too warm to hold trout past mid June. Put and take program in many waterways.

You can always throw them back.....

I'm all for catch and release but 99% of the people who fish the local stream arent. Hundreds of trout all bunched up in a single hole is a waste. That hole in my area will be fished out in a week. Heck, I wouldnt be upset if PFBC didnt stock at all this year, I would take that over dumping all fish in a single spot.

At a time when we're supposed to keep our distance from others everyone will be crowded around the big hole at or near the bridge on opening day where they dump them. Depending how bad things get I just might skip opening day and go later when I have elbow room.

I’ve skipped Opening Day for years because of the crowds. No different this year.

A little wonky, that's for sure. Let's hope that it doesn't turn into too much of a mess.

There's always DHALO, Wild trout, etc...We're considering hitting some of those on the Opener instead.
