9-10-19 Salmon River Report

The report I received last night was my family stayed in the DSR all day and the action was very good all day.
Many hook ups but landing those very fresh fish proved to be very difficult.
Leader breaks seemed to be numerous.
Wasn't till about mid day that my brother ran into another gentlemen who saw his frustration with breakoff's and offered him some 12lb Maximus fluorocarbon.
The fish were very line shy with 8lb but he used it and was still able to hook up and the percentages of landing increased a lot he said....

They also reported that they fished the bottom of the town pool Monday evening and had some hook ups and as they looked up stream they saw just as many hook ups right at the bridge as well.

Nice. I may head back up Sunday for half a day. My daughter has a softball game at 5pm that I have to take her too. Figure so long as I leave by 1pm I should have time to get home and take her.

Should be about time for a major coho push. Seems the 15th is about right each year. I would love to head up Sunday as my kid has a hockey game about 4 hours from pulaski. Beats driving 6.5 hrs. Maybe stay monday. More than likely something will come up at home that need attention.

I'm in the same boat... Looking for a day here to head up prior to our annual trip in October....
4 hour drive, door to door for us....
I'm actually thinking about pulling sonny boy out of high school for a Friday trip, how bad of a parent am I .....
Too busy this time of year with travel baseball tournaments for a weekend trip...

I'm so tempted to head up now but the reports on the lake are still good. Lots of charters extending their season so I'm sticking to the plan for the first week in Oct. Hopefully it will be a mixed bags of kings, coho's and a possible steelhead.
