9-9-19 Salmon River Report

As I wrote under Beagler's report from 9/8 I had some family in Pulaski yesterday.
Got a call last evening that they fished the DSR and had double digit hook ups but only landed one.
They had to walk some to find the pods as they were holding in some areas but not all.
Mostly kings with a couple coho's.
They said the fish were very fresh and fought unbelievably hard and all lost fish came from broken lines....
It's a chess match to get the heaviest leader you can without spooking fish that are line shy...
Definitely not the tired mostly brown colored fish we are used to seeing in October....
They were very excited at the action of these fish and this is from veteran SR fisherman who have been going up there for 15+ years....
Did not hear anything on other parts of the river other than the DSR but I may at sometime today....
They were spin fishing yesterday and today they were switching to fly rods...
They are new to the fly fishing so we'll have to see how well they do....

Yeah I know, why aren't I up there with them, well it's because they own their own companies and I'm the only smuck with a real job .....
