Follow Poor Richards Bait shop on facebook. They post reports every day or two.

Every stream should have fish now. Fish low on the streams, below rt 20. For a new guy try elk or walnut. Try eggsacs if water is at all cloudy, if not a small egg fly.

usually can't go wrong with single eggs and emerald shiners as well..... and the lighter the line the better. I myself use 6lb Stren as my main line and 4lb Berkley Vanish as my leader.

Went to 12,16 mile today, Not one fish at the mouth or upstream, No one fishing. West side might be better? Usually the local news would broadcast if the fishing is hot and heavy. Nothing! Weird year.

Get there early, be ready for crowds and some completely inconsiderate anglers who stomp across the water you're fishing right in front of you. Go during the week as opposed to the weekend and avoid the easy access points. Walk in as much as possible to avoid the crowds.

At this time of the year, stay downstream of Rt20. Look at Elk Creek. It gets a lot of fish and is the biggest stream on the west side so there is some room to spread out. Watch the weather stations up there. Try to go 1 day after a good rain. Use single eggs on light line. Or, if you can buy fresh skein up there, cut off a salmon egg sized piece. A good drift is everything. Don't concentrate on the holes where everyone is standing. On Elk, there will be fish holding in spots that many walk past. If you find a fish or two holding in fast water, you have an excellent chance of yanking them out. Fish holding in current are much more aggressive.

Go to Uncle John's campground cameras to check creek conditions on Elk. It's right below the tubes on rt.5 .
