I fished last Sunday but failed to post my results. Fishing was slow throughout the Salmon River. Ended up landing a couple at Ellis cove first thing in the morning and that was about it.
This morning my cousin and I headed to Ossego. We headed up to the dam as it was breaking light. Fishing pressure was surprisingly light. Water was up somewhat but we had no issues making it up to the dam.
It as pretty much constant action. We must have had at least 30 on apiece. Limited out by about 10:30am. I saw quite a few steelhead caught as well although nothing very large. Stopped at the new OzAngling fillet station to get our fish cleaned on we’re back on 81for the ride home early.
I just got back from there today. Plenty of fish in the river salmon/steelhead. Fish ran pretty much all day yesterday. Took a small break and took my 2 kids to the hatchery. Now that is where the action is lol. Never seen so many fish.
Heading up tomorrow with my son who will turn 16 on Friday.
He's been up there for steelhead last spring and this past summer for bass fishing the SR and on the lake for Salmon.
Now he's going to see the true Salmon River experience
Just finished up our annual trip. River was loaded. Best day i landed around 25. Most days everyone was in the double digits. Kings, coho, steelhead and one unicorn. Fished several spots up high and low and had hundreds of fish moving by each day. Still crazy numbers of fresh kings up river, should be good for another week or two.
