Have you noticed anything about Stren line lately?

I've used Dupont Stren fishing line (4 lb test)for trout for as long as I can remember. This year's spool though is making me think maybe they've gone to the dark side.....It still says "made in U.S.A." on the box, but I'm telling you this line is acting like the made in China stuff. Kinks, loops, knots, weakness everything. It even feels like cheap Chinese made line. My son bought the same stuff I did (from Wal-Mart same as me) and his line breaks with hardly any tension placed on it. Its either we got a bad batch, or it was last year's line the store put on the shelf to get rid of it, or Stren is now buying it from China. I don't know. Just wondering if anyone else is having issues with Stren.

It keeps up and I'll be buying another brand....

I just re-spooled two rods / reels yesterday with Stren Original 4# I bought about a month ago. I did notice that the line felt more coarse. I did not give it a break test. I'll be out up state next weekend and will put it through it's paces and see.

I always use 6lb Stren Magnathin. No issues so far.

bluebird, when you put the line on your reels did you have someone put a pencil through the spool you were taking off of and hold it upright? if you didnt this would cause twists and curls in the line. just thought id ask.
