I was up this past weekend. Lots of fish but not near the amount i saw last year at this time. Plenty of hookups. I took my 7 and 12 year old for their first trip. They are hooked and cant wait to go next year. We landed some and there was a nice gentleman and his son that would give my sons their rod when they hooked up. Great guys on the river. I will never buy a license from All Season sport shop again though. The guy behind the counter was real smart and asked "Why do you pennsylvanians keep coming up hear to fish". I was some what polite and said the fish are bigger. I handed him my cash and said your welcome for boosting your economy and he gave me a weird look. My kids were with me so i had to be settle.

Lol Pittsburgh guys are welcome at oak orchard though. A couple weeks ago I fished oak and about 3/4 of the guys were from Pittsburgh. And not just one big group of them.

Really slowed down. Fished last 2 mornings around town. Hooked around 10 each day. One trout, one coho.

Fished upriver last nite. Hooked a dozen. 10 zombies.

I'm sure there are local guys who fish there, but make no mistake, that area benefits greatly from traveling fishermen. You're a traveling angler and patronizing that shop.

There always seems to be a segment of people in tourist towns that hate tourists.

I ran into that years ago when I went on two trips to Fernie, BC. That town basically lives on tourism; fishing, hunting, and skiing, yet many of the occupants were not very friendly.
