Hi everyone! I'm heading to our camp in Tidioute this weekend. I'd love to show my kid some native trout, he's never seen one. Are there any good creeks around the area that you'd suggest? I'm not far from Heart's Content. Thank you!
There's a million places up there. Just about every stream big enough to hold trout hold them weather wild or stocked. I don't live in the area but with a little research quickly you'll have no trouble finding wild fish. It's near West Hickory Creek which would be a good place to start your search.
Thank you for the reply! When I was a boy we used to go catch them everywhere with my Dad. He's passed and I can't remember exactly where we went, but I want to share it with my son now. Hopefully go hit the spillway at Kinzua too!
Hickory Creek can be a really tough creek especially as the water warms up. Above Emporium you can take the FS road off of Yellow Hammer Rd. and there are some very nice small streams that are full of native Brookies. Google Earth is your friend.
