A trip to a local C&R.

Thursday's are my normal off day and the boy wanted to go hunting. Well, I had to explain that the only thing in was coyotes and groundhogs and that we probably weren't going to do very well on either today. So, he picked the next best thing....FISHING!

I had a few stream options in mind, but decided to hit a local C&R just because the prospect of some really big trout was there.

We fished for about a quarter mile while he got to practice some shallow wading. We caught one right after starting and then pulled two more out of the last hole.

On the short walk back to the car we pulled a trash bag out of my vest and picked up a bag full of litter left by stupid people along the stream.

Then it was a streamside lunch in the car of leftover pizza and Capri Sun.

He wanted to go to the lake after that but was fast asleep within minutes of firing up the car. We went the roundabout way home but he didn't wake up at the lake, so we'll save that for another day. Being that he wants to fish on almost every one of my off days I don't think I'll have a long wait.

Nice way to spend your Thursdays! Great pictures! Glad your son enjoys fishing at an early age. A great start to a lifetime of fishing.
