Storm Chasing Season!

It rained yesterday so of course I was on the trout trail prior to work today…..the beauty of not having to be in super early. Gives me time to explore for a few hours here and there. Today I picked a stream that is almost entirely posted but I was able to find a coulpe stretches amounting to about 1 mile open to the public although not really advertised as such. The effort to locate these areas was well worth the hassle. Both the trout and the scenery were high quality!

I was even able to wrangle up a rare Wild Rainbow Trout for the morning.

The second stretch I found was much smaller but still teeming with feisty Wild Browns and some attractive habitat.

The 61 trout that I caught was enough to tell me that I needed to continue to unlock some secrets to this creek. The trout are there…..I just need to continue to find ways to get to them!

little mountain streams like that are a blast to fish. Looks like a great way to kill time before work.

Yep. I find sleeping to be an utter and complete waste of valuable time. If it wasn't a physiological requirement I wouldn't even do it ever haha.

Re: Storm Chasing Season!

I was wondering if you wrre going to take advantage of the rains, I know I wished I could. Work is BOILING right now so making the escape today was not in the plans.

Good job!

Very Nice! Now I'm starting to get jealous of the amount of time you're able to sneak out and hit the streams. Glad someone's able to keep the trout busy.

With last night's thunderstorms in my area, I had the same idea this morning. However, when I pulled up to the local ATW, it was still a chocolate river. With that I proceeded to the gym instead...

Ya those are the storm chasen breaks....I win and lose them all the time. The rewards are worth the lack of sleep losses though.
