Fish-for-free day with the daughter

My daughter likes to fish, but not very often, so it's not very practical for her to buy a license. We usually plan on the FFF days to spend some time together. I was actually surprised that she even went, since I know she and her husband had a late night, but was happy when she showed up at 5:00 am. We made the drive and were on the water by about 5:45. It was a beautiful morning. Geese and ducks flying and calling, fish were rising as we entered the creek. All in all it was a nice day; we both caught some fish. We kept a couple and we put some back. We stayed within talking distance the whole time, enjoyed the sunrise and scenery, and just chatted and fished.

All of a sudden I saw her start to reel, and a real nice fish cleared the water right in front of her. I was trying to keep her calm, as she's never fought a big fish before. We finally got it in the net, a nice fat female that taped at 19 3/4".

Some pics from the morning, including the "mandatory" selfie.

Now that's a fish. Good for her and a nice trip out where I'm sure you'll be talking about it for a while.

I'm so far behind I think I'm in first place.

She would exceptionally like this one; she's 23 with a 2 year old.
