Bob's Creek - Dunnings Creek

So I was checking out Bob's Creek in Bedford county today on the maps. Bob's is stocked downstream to it's mouth (at Dunnings creek). I notice, however, that Dunnings is NOT on the stocking charts. Is Dunnings creek too warm for trout, or does the water quality drop off severely at the mouth of Bobs creek? Just curious as to whether there are any trout in Dunnings at all. Thanks!

A bad day hunting rabbits beats a good day of anything else!

I suspect it gets too warm. I sometimes fish the mile or so upstream from the mouth. As the temps rise, we see more smallmouths and rockies come upstream.

don't wish things were easier;
wish you were smarter.

Re: Bob's Creek - Dunnings Creek

Well we checked out Bobs today. My wife caught 8 trout. This was her biggest, a nice 17" brown:

I caught one small brown. Great day to spend outdoors, and I'm very happy with our trip!

Re: Bob's Creek - Dunnings Creek

We fish the lower end of Bobs creek almost at the mouth of Dunnings creek. We also fish up towards Cox Monument. Lots of nice stretches of that stream. My uncle used to fish across from the Sand Plant and below Blackies. The lady that sold Mums used to try and chase him away and toss rocks at him. She was heavy and always dirty, we had to stop in there one time to look for a lost dog, she was down right scarey. We nick named her "Gunga Din".

Bobs creek gets pounded, if you ever drive past on the first day, your jaw would drop. I fish the upper end of the stream near the little town of Pavia. A lot of fish in there but I just cant enjoy that stream for some reason.
