trout stream in Cntrl/Wstrn PA near turnpike

Hi Guys,

On June 13 I'm traveling from eastern PA to Columbus OH. I could probably carve out a couple hours on the drive there for some trout fishing. Would like to be able to hit up a new trout stream.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a trout stream relatively close to a turnpike exit along the drive out in Central or Western PA?

Ideal situation would be place where we can cover some stream and also for native trout.

We would be strictly catch and release and probably would be just a one time visit.

If anyone can help out with a stream and general parking/access areas that would be great!

thanks a lot!
Dan

Deer Creek, less than a half mile south of Harmarville turnpike exit,on RT 910. Just stockies,no natives.

I drive by this everyday. Id be surprised if there are any fish in it. Last week I knew they must have stocked that day. I drove by at 5:00 there must have been 25 cars/trucks between the gas tanks and the ice cream shop

IMO Jump off at the Donegal exit and head over to Route 30 and fish Loyalhana .. Easy access on and off

Indian cr off Donegal exit. east on Rt 31, then right on rt 711. Indian is on your left.

Get off Bedford exit head west on rt 31 it follows raystown branch of Juniata river.

This time of year, your best fishing will be off of the Turnpike in the mountains and the Donegal exit is a good choice. I favor the Yough in Confluence but that's about a 45 minute drive from the turnpike. Loyalhanna is also a very good recommendation.
