Slowin up?

Has the bite slacked off in this current heat wave?I haven't been out in a while with work and Turkey now in season.

Re: Slowin up?

Water is low where I'm at also. I'm finding I have to fish early morning before the water heats up. Yesterday afternoon I was at Tulpehocken Creek in Berks County when they stocked but was only able to catch 4. I went back this morning at 5:00 AM and caught and released 22.

Re: Slowin up?

We have about average flow for this time of year around here from what I have seen, and I think the bite is just getting good. I went out yesterday and for the first time this year I caught 5 trout in the two hours I was out, and had probably twice as many hits (too much rust in the hook-setting arm...) Up until yesterday I honestly wasn't sure what to think about when this season would start picking up.

A bad day hunting rabbits beats a good day of anything else!

Re: Slowin up?

I was up at my camp Thur and Fri this week. Water levels came down a bit, but not too bad for this time of year.
I fished from 5pm to 7:30 pm Thursday. Caught 13 and rolled or missed at least that many others. Fished from 9:30 am until 11:30 am after turkey hunting Friday morning and quit when I caught my 20th fish, again missing and losing several others. Bite does not seem to be too affected by the warm temps up there.

Re: Slowin up?

The streams are getting low! I took my 8 yr. old son out this morning..but! The trout are still there! We are in need for rain..that would be perfect fishing! My son caught 2 and lost 2, but the streams were so low the trout were getting very spooky, I am in Lehigh county.
