Looking for a good rain coat.

I know this is more of a gear question, but it is for trout fishing so I thouhg I'd ask here.
I am looking for a good rain coat/parka. I'd prefer something that would hang below the tops of my hip boots and have a hood, but the hood is not a necessity.

What do you guys use that you can recommend? I don't mind paying a bit for it if it's good.

Re: Looking for a good rain coat.

Bought a Frogg Togg at Cabela's a few years back.
Very nice, multiple pockets, neoprene Velcro wristlets, hood and warm (the jacket is not insulted, but it keeps you warm on those dreary cold days. It also has an elastic waist band like a bomber jacket.
I've used it up in Pulaski, NY on the Salmon River in all out down pours and not a drop got thru.

On Frogg Toggs site, the closest thing I see that is similar to what I bought was the "Firebelly Toadz" series

Can't go wrong with Frogg Togg.

I think I got the same one, and am very happy with it. It was around 80.00 when I got it. I agree that it keeps you warm but not too warm to wear with a tee shirt when it is just chilly or a bit rainy. The neoprene wrist straps are great IMO

Not the best out there by far but a good buy for the money IMO

Re: Looking for a good rain coat.

I love my Cabela's. Wasn't even shopping for one but came across it in the bargain cave a few years ago and couldn't pass it up at the price. Turned out being my best fishing gear purchase in a long time. ( other than Frank's spinners!) It might not quite give coverage over hip waders, but plenty of overlap for the waist waders I need because of being vertically challenged. It also has the velcro/neoprene wrists, and I agree they are great and a must have. Plenty of pockets including an ok size storage pocket on the back just big enough for lunch and a base layer to stow after the day warms up. With fleece under it I was plenty warm with temps in the low 30s and not hot with a thin shirt until the high 70s.
